Marie-Antoinette Inspiration Shoot

December 19, 2011

I have a mild obsession with styled shoots. Some people are quite outspoken and against them, but I think they are extraordinary since they allow the stylist, photographer, and all the other talented vendors to put forth what they can do. And for some (like moi), it’s a stepping stone to allow potential clients to see what you are capable of creating for their big day. When you have no portfolio to show, crafting a meticulous styled shoot is one of the best ways to experience all the ins and outs of a real wedding, sans the nuptials. For me, styled shoots rock, and I hope to do a few every year to showcase new trends and ideas.

When I saw this Marie-Antoinette inspired styled shoot by Justin and Mary over on Style me Pretty, I was so giddy with excitement. Sofia Coppola’s Marie-Antoinette is one of my favorite movies ever. The colors, the big hair, the petit fours – I swoon. Not to mention that gorgeous, airy, dress by Monique Lhuillier. It’s so pretty I could eat it.
